Default Lower control arms?

Okay so i'm not so sure of the control arms. I have the fixed ones that come witht eh 4.5 RC lift and my axle sits back pretty far. So to fix this do I need to get adjustable ones so that I can make the axle sit forward? Should I get the drop brackets with straight arms or just the regular bent ones? Whats the advantage with the drop brackets and straight arms?

At 4.5" drop brackets need arms that are about stock length in fact I used oem replacement arms and the axle placement is almost perfect. You will have a hard time finding adjustables that can go short enough at that height. I did consider buying some aftermarket and having them shortened but opted for the oem for cost and I think long arms are in my future.

The do make it handle better.

So better off with stock brackets with adjustable bent arms?

I can't answer that. I was just sharing my experience. Brackets plus aftermarket arms are going to push the axle forward, not necessarily a bad thing unless you have tire clearance issues. Short arms begin to have a pretty steep angle at 4.5" and can contribute to a harsher ride. You will have to make this choice on your own. However you go will not be the end I am afraid as most jeepers are always desiring more or better.

Drop brackets will improve ride on-road, and improve flex off-road; however, you may not be able to use your fixed RC arms with the drop brackets, as your pinion angle will likely be too steep and you'll get some driveshaft vibes.

VERY good response.

If you don't like the idea of puttin up the coin for long arms you could buy a set of adjustable uppers and lowers. Then adjust them out to your needs while still leaving the proper amount of threads in the arms for strength.
