I just ordered the RC 4.5 x series kit today. From everything I've read people seem to be happy with them. I'll see what I think. I had a RE 4.5 superflex on my last XJ so I have something to compare it to.

Awesome yeah I'd love to hear what ya think. I have never had a Cherokee i drove on the road I have always just used them as toys. So I'm trying todo my 01 up nice. But I got a really good deal on the kit slightly used just wanted to hear what people who were running it thought about it.

I have this lift. Bought it about two-three months ago and got around to installing it 1-1.5 months ago.
At first after having driven the XJ for a few years in stock condition I was happy with the extent of the lift but leery and worried how it felt on the road. I purchased the 2.2 Nitro upgrade shocks and, as this is my daily driver, I was not pleased with being able to feel every crack as if I hit a bump and every bump feeling like I fell into a pot hole.
Now after that initial time period and the lift finally giving some the lift feels fantastic. I've driven an acquaintances Skyjacker 3" lifted AAL XJ and let me tell you the RC lift is 100 times better. I fully recommend this lift as a very good starting point because once you start with this or any lift it doesn't end there. :banging:
I have not taken it off road yet but feel more than confident that it will perform when I do.
Installation was easy but I do recommend getting shackle replacements. I went with the Rugged Ridge SYE and Tom Woods drive shaft so I didn't have a need to install the transfer case drop kit. Overall the X-Series kit gives you everything you need to hit the dirt roads after installing.

RC is good quality - depends on how you treat it and install it like any other lift.
A lot of people complain of harsh rides - but don't know how to properly toque suspension components. They also take there jeeps out and take em through that 6 foot mudhole and hit bolders the size of a school bus and complain there **** is broke.
Install it right and don't be an idiot and it will do just fine.

Haha I have a Cherokee already built to beat the hell out of that idc about. this is goin on my 01 and will see more street time than offroad time. But I want a good solid WW that I can take camping and back packing has good road manners and still wheel it if I need to.

I have a RC 4.5X, works great for me- but a word of caution- the track-bar that comes with it is only meant for up to 4.5", thanks to the PO's spacers and shackles, I actually have 5.5", making my steering a little on the sloppy side. But that's my fault, not Rough Country's. As for flex-
NOTE: I didn't disconnect my front sway-bar, this was the next day after the install was finished (Abe's did it for me, I didn't have the know-how to confidently do it myself)
Oh- and it doesn't ride THAT rough, but you can tell it's offroad suspension, not street queen suspension. Personally, I think it's just fine, and the LCA drop would improve it for sure, mine are still in the stock location.
