Ok to run a zj alt in a renix you have to find an aftermarket regulator and wire it in. It's a pain. You can also have your stock alt respun up to 180 amp. You just need to find an alt and starter rebuilder that can do it for you. It cost me $50 to boost my old one to 160 amp.

To take advantage of the amps you will have to upgrade your wiring to larger wires. The way it sits it will work fine but to get the most out of it the wiring is undersized.
ZJ alt's are 90amps for 4.0 and 120amps for V-8's. I have a V-8 one in my XJ.

That's why I didn't use a ZJ one. And as for a renix I would just do a HO swap and call it good. Just hate that older set up and it's crazy wires all over. Pulse the shop buy me who builds alts will not give out a warente on a built up one.
