Love this alt. beef mod!!!!!!!!
Went to the JY today and picked up an alt. out of an 2003 Dakota with a 3.9. Had it tested at around 136 amps! Took this bad boy home and did some grinding to the aluminum bracket and tossed out the bolt on steel one. Will make one with better clearance if necessary but I don't think I will need it. Vary happy and simple. 46 extra amps will help running lights, and ext. under a load without affecting spark.

Its the same alternator as the ZJ. I just put one on a few weeks ago and it was a pain but it went in flawlessly.
To take advantage of the amps you will have to upgrade your wiring to larger wires. The way it sits it will work fine but to get the most out of it the wiring is undersized.

There is a bazillion threads on this topic. It isn't new or a secret. Very common mod.
Spend 30 seconds searching "136 amp alternator" and you can find pics and everything.
I haven't put mine in yet but I got a spare bracket and did the grinding on the bench. I posted pics in another thread about this.
You want the Denso 7913 alternator.
