Looking at a Snorkel
Ive been thinking about buying a snorkel for a while now and I found a few on ebay that are reasonably priced.
The main reason why I want one is because it is a TRUE cold air intake due to the fact that it does not draw in air from the engine bay.
Who here has a snorkel on their XJ? Is there any difference in fuel efficency, horsepower, etc? I would really like to know more about these before I go and buy one.

I am also in the same boat. Where did you find yours reasonably priced? all the ones i found were like 100+ bucks.
And ive also wondered one, how do you filter you air? and two I know that less that 2 tbs of water can kill an engine..and what happens when your driving and its raining and water goes into the snorkel?

i got the Airflow snorkel because it does NOT require you to have to remove your windshield washer bottle when installed and also allows you to run aftermarket fender flares like bushwhackers if you want to(which the ARB and chinese ones made to be exactly like the ARB won't allow you to do)
plus its way cheaper then a ARB and just a little more then a chinese one.
comes in at 295$
i ordered mine from jeepin outfitters

I got an ARB one and it is very nice. To keep water out it drains water out of the top peace where you clamp it on.

I have trimmed fenders and TJ flares. So I'm hoping the snorkel will still fit, if not, I'll make it fit by cutting the front flare a little.
I have an 84-96 XJ so there's no need to relocate the washer fluid tank as it is on the firewall on the passenger side. My question is, what do I have to do to the door? You guys said you had to do a little modding?
