Default looking for opinions on Coils and Leafs replacement

so right now im running a rough country 6.5" lift...but the rear springs are completely finnished and sagging, and the front springs are giving a pretty rough ride...so im looking on replacing them...

i was looking at clayton, and rubicon express...wondering which made better quality ride springs for front(coils) and rear(leafs)?

and for shocks any suggestions?

my ride is my DD/weekend warrior...just to give an idea how i ride it

Clayton leaf springs are far superior to rubicon express in most every way. Just a better designed leaf pack, less axle wrap, stronger, longer lasting, etc. Rubicon express leaves may be a little softer, but soft leaf springs dont always make the best riding spring.

Coils across the board are the same for the most part, slightly different spring rates, the rest of the suspension better determines ride quality as far as im concerned.

As for shocks, everyone who runs a bilstein 51xx series valved at 255/70 seems to love it, but again, sometimes valving comes down to personal preference. I prefer even stiffer than that.

Well I am not sure of Clayton,However the Rubicon are good. And have a very nice life time warranty. And any spring will last up to 1 to 2 years easy.Depinding how rough you are on them.Find what you like and go with warranty there after.

I ran 2 sets of rubicon express leaf springs. They lasted about 2 months before they sagged below their advertised height and began bending into an "s' shape from the axle wrap. I ran one set of clayton leaf springs, they controlled axle wrap very well and i never had a reason to switch to another leaf spring.

Clayton has more leaves in their pack, they are military wrap and made in canada. Re leaves use standard eyes, have less leaves, and are made in india.

I keep reading about rubicons limited lifetime warranty, but cant find any details anywhere. Maybe im just looking in the wrong places. But a warranty wont get a rig with a broken leaf spring off the trail.

The 5150's are being discontinued.

I'd strongly recommend installing your leafs/coils and then flexing your rig so you can measure for the correct length shocks.

FWIW,
I recently installed a set of 5165's on my rear axle...fookin' awesome shocks.
