Cool Looking for Info on a build! XJ beach cruiser:)

Hey guys and gals , my name is john , i have been buying jeeps for the past couple of years now. i love them the reliability and the adventure that can be had in a jeep :P . anywho so now im looking for insight on doing a lift and Rim+ tire setup for some beach adventures . i was looking do to a 4.5 lift but trying not to break the bank at the same time .if anyone could lead me in the right path with a decent combo and common problems for a smooth build any advice would be greatly appreciated . i currently own a 1996 XJ 2door i will be posting pics as i go along with the transformation . thanks in advanced !

beach? dont go over 31s without a regear, dont get aggressive tires. you want all terrains. thats it. when i had my old XJ with a 3" lift and 31" BFG ATs it went on the sand better than my current rig.

Get a good transmission cooler and service your cooling system before doing anything. BFG Baja T/A 33x10.50R15's on a set of wheels with proper offset, a Zone Offroad Products 4.5" XJ Suspension Lift Kit with Rear Leaf Springs, get a selectable locker for the rear and regear to 4.56's front and rear. A friend of mine has a similar combo and he has never been stuck in the sand on the Outer Banks. Wider tires might be better but the Baja doesn't come in 12.5's.

I would also get a CO2 air tank system for fast tire fill ups or maybe even a compressor system if you will be going to the beach a lot. Run your tires at 12psi and you'll be floating on the sand.

unless your in some really deep dry loose sand. All terrains will work. Just air down to about 12-15 psi and you will be good. Airing down is the most important and common sense. Dont go goosing through the sand. Its gonna catch and your gonna get buried. On OBX I gave seen $50-$60 rigs with every bell an whistle buried up to the axle, While I rolled by in my stock 2010 tacoma on some cheesy BFG Rugged Fails. All because they were being stupid. Got so bad one year, if your got stuck Park Ranger wrote you a ticket.

Check your local beach regulations. Some beaches (this is true in NYS) limit the tire size as well as the type of tire (was true on Cape Cod, not sure if it is currently).
I ran an LSD and it was awesome in the sand. On my Sami, I could go in 2wd where others had trouble in 4wd. It's something to check out....

Okay thanks for the input guys... Lift is finally in the mail now I'm stuck on the rim and tire combo, zone is telling me to buy 32x11.5 tires and rims 15x8 4.75 backspace,.. Now my beef they want me to get a 8" wide rim but the tire to be a 11.5 does that work if so sorry for my noobness I would get a 10" wide rim for that or it doesn't matter... But Gona get the bf Goodrich at btw ohh what's the deal with backspacing as well lol jesus I need help dudes!
