4x4 indicator lights after conversion
I converted to 4wd yesterday. Today I tested everything came out nicely. Shifts great, transfer does what it's supposed to (tough to get into 4 low though).
Seems like the only thing that's not working are the indicator lights. I did have to extend the wires for the plug that connects to the T/C. I have yet to add the illumination light bulb for the shift bezel.
Did I miss something that needs to be swapped over? Any wiring, sensors, fuses, plugs? Where should I start looking?
Disclaimer: I searched but nothing really concerning this with the conversion.

Nice another conversion!!
IMO, the shifter handle is a good indicator. I didn't care about the light.
Have you pulled you light panel where it's supposed to be and checked the wires and bulb socket?

The switch on the transfer case might be bad. Mine was, fixed it nicely but the new switch wasn't super cheap. About $30.00 I think.
Edit; the test is to make a "U" shaped jumper wire, and put it into the harness connector. Have an assistant check the dash light while you try the jumper. May need to wiggle it to make contact.

I know the shift handle is a pretty blunt identifier. My problem is the fact that I have OCD. The small attention to detail things really bother me.

BE SURE TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE AND CHOCK THE WHEELS!
THE TEST IS DONE WITH THE IGNITION ON, BUT THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING.
Not sure about continuity, but shorting the two wires will cause the dash light to glow if the bulb is not burned out.
When the t-case lever is pulled into 4wd, the dash light should read either part time or full time, depending on how the harness was wired at the factory.
The switch is on top of the t-case, between the front output and T-case input shafts

Tried that and no light. Going to pull the dash apart later and see if there's even a bulb in there when I get the chance. Headed to the beach for Memorial Day. Im going to take some time out to remember my brothers and those who gave all.

To my surprise there were bulbs in there. I swapped them out but they still don't light up. I'm going to re-check the switch on the TC with the new bulbs in. Hope that'll help me figure out the deal.

Yeah I know. Like I said before, my OCD just kicks in and screws with me. If something is supposed to work no matter how small I like it to work. I think the military aspect of attention to detail has really been ingrained over the past 14 years. No matter how much I say screw it, I know I'll be messing with it until that stupid light comes on.
