Default Long oil filter for Renix 4.0

I had a hard time sourcing longer oil filters for the Renix 4.0 up to 1990, which uses metric threads.

After a little bit of digging I found a massive cross reference list of oversized filters that *should* work on the Renix.
It would be wise to double check that the filters have an internal anti drain back valve, which will prevent dry starts.

Why not do this?

What's the obsession with bigger filters?

I actually didn't know it was that easy to switch the thread size to standard. I will have to update it for my next oil change.

The motor bay has plenty of room for a larger filter, and the prices are about the same. That is why I started looking into it.

Switch the nipple and you can use a 1515 Wix.

I don't know the obsession with them either...but do have to agree on the style points for the caterpillar one... given the history of our I6 plants. kinda cool.

If you do regular changes like you should they are not needed. But I have to say even though it's "not much", In extremely hot environments every little bit of additional oil capacity you can get helps. We used to modify our hot rod oil pans to hold more capacity and it made a huge difference in our hotter environment both with or without oil coolers.

The micro pee-pee. It also stinks, So I rage bought a large CAT filter to compensate.

+1 I wasn't expecting anyone to figure it out...

Good thing I got my Sherlock magnifying glass or I would have missed out on the “clue”.

These will only fit the renix l6 up to 1990 (metric threads).
1991+ have standard threads
