Default long arm vs control arm drop brackets for a daily driver

Ive got a 87 2 door laredo with about 6 inches of lift, and it rides like crap. bounces all over the road, Anyone have any experience with control arm drop brackets? and how they compare to a long arm kit

I'm sure that there are a million different opinions. I have a 99 XJ and I first installed shackle relocation brackets on the rear and that helped some. Yesterday I installed the control arm drop brackets from Rocky Road Outfitters. The drive quality has improved 90%! Prior to the drop brackets, the ride was horrible. I have a little over 5" of lift. So, if you are looking to improve drive quality, the drop brackets will really help! I can't speak for the long arms, but I'm sure they are fine as well.

Long arms will give a better ride and work better. Drop brackets will improve the ride over what you have now and will cost less, but will not perform nearly as well as long arms. Long arms just look better too.

Cant speak for long arms personally but also have had RR cad brackets for about a year. Definitely a good investment if funds are tight and you want to significantly improve your ride. If you can afford it long arms are the way to go. Wish I had waited but now I am here and the cads work.

Drop brackets will definitely improve your on road ride a lot. Long arms will ride good and improve offroad ability a lot.

If at all possible go Long Arm you will not be disappointed, Drop Brackets you will still need to upgrade to the Long Arm and its ride quality/off road ability.

i went from drop brackets to long arms merely just for the bragging rights.

there really isn't that much of a difference both on road and off.

long arms vs drop brackets for a pavement princess? save the money and get the drop brackets. you plan on hitting some rocks? get the long arms.

for a jeep that sees ZERO rock crawling? drop brackets and of course bilsteins.

every drop bracket I've seen off road gets hung up. not always going forward, but when trying to back off an obstacle. pretty bad watching those things tug on the frame.

not sure if skyjacker still sells these, but they are way smarter than kits like RC. not sure why they haven't resurfaced on the market. these would solve my gripes

I have no idea of the cost on those Amos but with the cross member and all I wonder how much it would be less than a long arm kit in the long run. Reading on NAJXA it says that these had a problem with breakage also, welds anyway.

That may very well be your best way to go for your usage.
