My Rock Krawler 3 link seems to be a great kit so far, I'd recommend it to anybody looking for long arms.Originally Posted by XJwonders

Sigh- well you guys keep doing your ***** to the wall wheeling with your dana 30s/35s and 35s- clearly you push it extremely hard.....
Your all correct. I drive circles in the parking lot in my Jeep and that is why my IRO has never broken. It has nothing to do with maintaining equipment or being a good product or anything silly like that. I suppose the Bilsteins IRO sells at a fraction of everyone elses cost are made in China and their track bar at 100 dollars cheaper than the closest competitor is also a POS. There is no way that they might just possibly tried to sell their stuff at a fair price. Nope all of us who run their stuff have been tricked. My Jeep is going to spontaneously combust while I'm going 75 down the highway. So sayeth those who have never had it.
p.s. When I say made with more metal I mean IRO's arms are made with 2x5/16 DOM. Serious= 2x1/4, Rustys= 2x1/4 etc.

I would as well- As far as I know they are the only guys with completely solid lower control arms. They make great stuff- I have considered getting their rear coil conversion but Im not sure how well it would work with the IRO sub grame. This OP was asking about RC though- Rk is probably out of his price range...Originally Posted by torque062

op strongest and nicest kit i give to clayton you cant do better than square control arms and a three piece weld-on xmember...my close 2nd would be tnt and for what its worth i wheeled the crap out of my rustys long arms that i bought second hand from a wheeling buddy and they were awesome
My joints have lasted that long but the bolts that hold them in have not... I have had to replace the passenger side bolt through the sub-frame several times- they wear down over time. Have not had an issue with the castor once.- In fact even when I cracked my d30 (the actual axle tubes) the castor did not move. It broke right next to the lower control arm and that impact was pretty rough/involved a pretty rough hop and it didn't move. I just keep it greased and have not had an issue. Yea there tons of people that run iro and rc with no problems what so ever but there are also a lot of people too that it has been nothing but problems. Can from user error install or just plain failure.
To the op get something in the middle cheaper isn't always the best but either is the most expensive item either. Plus now almost everybody has lifetime warranty but doesn't meant **** when your broken down somewhere and it was something with the suspension.

Yeah you might be right. Although XJwonders said he got his 3 link for 688 from AOR so that's always an option. Originally Posted by Ianf406

I personally like Iron Rock, they are 20 minutes from my home town and were more than willing to offer a military discount when I was home.

IRO makes a good kit. You are just mad that you spent 3x as much and trying to find ways to justify it. I have put ALOT of cash into my XJ. I just feel no need to replace the IRO kit as it has worked flawlessly for so long.

Do that with any kit and it will bend. I love how you just assume the thousands of us who run their kit don't wheel. I tell you what- Ill start posting positive reviews (most of which who wheel) and you start posting negatives.. see who has the most. IRO makes a good kit. Same here. I have the iro long arms and so do most of the vegas cherokeeforum members. We rock crawl all day with them on. Iro may get a lot of crap for their design but they've held up well down here. Dave's offroad supply who is a vendor here has the forum discount as well as free shipping from time to time so hit them up if you decide to go that route.
However serious and Clayton do make some great kits as far as I hear. I would like to try the serious kit if I ever have problems with the iro kit but so far so good
so im likeing the ironman arms but they dont make there own crossmember. the seriousoffroad looks good but the crossmember looks small . anybody run the serious . the ironman with what cross? the rubicon ex looks like a 6 piece bolt together. the reason im looking for the upgrade kit is i have new 6.5 leafs and 6.5coils on stock arms . im building the xj mostly for mud and light small rocks. ground clearance and stability , top speed 30/40 not street legal. hope this clears up the fog

Get the serious long arm upgrade. You will not beat the beef for the price. Also the crossmember gives you plenty of protection. Especially if it is mostly for mud. And the lifetime warranty is nice. There are plenty of people on here who run it.

The Serious X-member is pretty stout, and the t-case skid is a nice touch. I'm finally going to get to beat on mine next week...
