Just installed Logan's Metal Products winch bumper on my '97 XJ. Second bumper of theirs I've installed; first was a non-winch bumper on the Kid's '91. Also have a third rear bumper for the kid's '91 to be installed...maybe tonight.
Both of these front bumpers came with 1/4" laser-cut mounting plates that reach back up the frame rails and use 5 or 6 bolts per side. This winch bumper then has 5 bolts each side to bolt the bumper to these plates. Fit up on both bumpers was perfect. The only gripe I have is that they only sell one bumper for both earlier and later XJ's and the corner arrangements are NOT the same. So the corners need some attention. I may have to whip something up...if Logans hasn't already. They had mentioned they were thinking about it...
And yeah, the winch is a HF 9000lb. $240+tax w/ 20% coupon. Can't beat it.

Looks great. What do you mean the corners arrangements are not the same? At first I was thinking of building off my factory bumper but these are nice and don't break the bank.

The only difference is the 96 down XJs have a piece of sheet metal that extends down and the flare wraps around under the stock front bumper.
Im also on my second logans metal fab bumper...one change they have made is adding inner gussets to the inside of the bumper because several people smacked theirs on a tree/rock and crumpled the sides of the bumper...yours being new should have said gussets.
My only complaint is that they kill your approach angle...and I plan on getting rid of mine for that reason..Ive yet to actually buy one...the last 2 xjs ive bought though have just had them already installed.
The welds and the bumper overall is a nice piece though.

I just emailed them and got a response within ten minutes. WOW. Well they are less than an hour away from me at school so I'll be looking to pick one up soon. I'm going with the non-winch version so it helps my approach angle and don't want a winch. He say's that they have them in stock so I just need to call for the pickup. Most winch bumpers kill the approach angle, that's just how they are unless you want a hidden one behind the front crossmember.

Wow I forgot how good those look. I had one ordered about 3 or 4 years ago and they jerked me around for several months before I cancelled it and got something else. Your pics def make me want to order one again. Is that their black powder coat option you went with or did you coat it yourself?

The B. Lee's bumper is nice and cheap but I think that this one offers more protection and is more aesthetically pleasing. Plus, finding out that they are local is great.

OK, come to find out the corners are made for use with aftermarket fender flares. She says if you put Bushwackers on there it looks perfect.
I painted it with red marine epoxy primer and then Duplicolor spray can bedliner. Which goes on like runny cow****, but then seems to level out a bit. But the epoxy prime coat has a bunch of brush marks and those show thru so...not my best work. Looks good from 20 ft tho...
Attached are some pics of the kid's '91 with Logan's bumpers on both ends; we just installed the rear about an hour ago. Looks like it needs darker paint (or maybe the Jeep needs a bath...) But VERY impressed with this product. Never seen a better looking XJ bumper and the quality is first rate. Follows the body lines perfectly, bolt holes all line up, it's sturdy as hell and the finish is great.
The price is great, and Jamie Logan is nice to deal with. This spring I'll probably buy the rear bumper w/ tire carrier. Returning customers get 10% off.

I'll probably cut my flares up to the top of the bumper anyway since I will be putting on Napier flares eventually. Can you take some pictures of your kid's bumper underneath please. I want to see how the bumper angles and curves. The bumpers look amazing, especially the rear by the way.
