you shouldn't need to adjust anything with the ring and pinion. on the front you'll need to remove the ring gear, but its pretty easy. the rear is a even easier swap though. i would recommend the rear first, but to answer the question you'll get a more capable vehicle with the front locked before the rear.

and for the rear I was under the impression that you need to remove everything to install a full case?

yeah, just a little...can't wait to get a locker....
anyway on topic. I think for a pure off-road rig and only one a front locker is better. I would plan on doing both anyway with a selectable upfront. I'm going to be getting E-lockers when I get mine. the air ones just seem to be too much while an electronic one seems right. just flip a switch. boom. however the powertrax lock-rights seems like a cheaper alternative....

is this a daily driver? and do u have manually locking front hubs? that makes a world of difference when locking your front diff.! what axles are in it? a limited slip offers more than twice the traction of an open diff and much more street friendly than a front locker!
