Default Locker or Ltd Slip

Hey all,

have a dailer driver XJ, live in AB Canada, lots of snow and ice for about 4-5 months a year. Anyway, is like to upgrade my diff.

would you all recommend a limited slip or a locker? (I wish there was a hybrid of the two)

I take jeep hunting on lease roads, washes out muddy roads andights trails. It sees un-plowed roads and loose gravel. But, like most. Daily drivers, 90% pavement (often slick with snow or ice)

im not ready or willing to upgrade to a new vehicle, so I'd like to do this. I'm considering rear diff only.

thoughts?

I believe limited slips are better for snow and wet, but I have driven with a locker in the snow.

If you never actually play on the rocks and just do light trails, I would just say go Limited slip. I am locked all the way around and I live in Michigan with plenty on snow. If you know what you are doing, lockers are great in the snow but just jump in and drive, nothing's beats a lsd for loose ground conditions.

Lol, lockers get you into trouble, witches get you out. If you don't already have one, i would look into get the 242 TC for the full time option. Then look into a winch. so many options, all depends on your budget. A selectable locker would be ideal. And as stated, yes a limited slip style locker is more road friendly.
