You'll be fine even with the 27 spline rear. How you drive it is key. If your careless. You may want to upgrade inners or switch out axles entirely. But for DD and mild wheeling. You'll be fine. I think the 8.25 is under rated. But try it out. A PowerTrax is 400 bux. Alloy inners another 375. Keep it simple for now.

You know I think that sounds good, I think sometimes I get carried away when I need to remember to take it easy and not spend all my money! I can get away with that I am not that hardcore anyways, school def takes a bite out of scheduale.

Is there any way to see if it is a 27 or 29 spline from the outside? Do I have to pull an axelshaft and count the splines?

I like it. I never need 4 wheel drive anymore, it just goes. it is a little easier to spin out, but you can without a locker too. You mainly just have to relearn driving to the new characteristics of the vehicle like any other suspension/drive train mod.

u got to pull the shafts and count, i forget the measurements, but you can also measure the diameter of the shafts to figure it out

Pricewise yes, but in 5 years, I've seen 4 D44s at the jy. The 8.8 however is there everytime in all the ratios, open & LSD. If someone wants to go to 4:10s, it's a no brainer to grab a stock geared 8.8 and only re-gear the front.

i have the aussie in the d30 and no vacume disconnect, i don't feel a thing, and i had about an inch of snow the other day and i tested the locker in the snow and you still dont notice when in 2wd, but there is a slightly different feeling in 4wd, i highly recomend

an aussie, or any LB locker, only works when torque is applied, so u cant tell its there when in 2WD
