You live an hour up the road from me. I go to Gulches every chance I get.

This is purely a personal opinion amongst everyone. I locked the front of my Jeep first. (When I was still DDing it). In 2wd any locker is going to be completely invisible in the front and I doubt you'll even hear it ratcheting. There will be zero ill effects when driving in 2wd. Offroad: the difference with the locker in the front is amazing. (I'm sure it'd be just as noticable in the rear) On the trail I've never needed to make tighter turns. I've never noticed any loss of turning radius locked in the front. (But that's just me) As long as the power steering is strong enough to turn it you won't notice.

For a DD I'd prefer lock the front first for the simple fact that a locked rear in 2wd will be noticable. You'll chirp tires if you turn too sharp while on the gas. If you mash the gas to turn at a light you'll be chirping tires around the turn. I prefer to not deal with chirping tires unless I want to.

If you can afford a selectable then it won't make a difference where you put it... I'd have a selectable in the rear and lunch box locker in the front...

If you were launching a boat, you would want fronts. Those wet boat ramps can get slippery.
Why do you need locking hubs? How often do you drive your Jeep on pavement in 4wd? You should read the back of your sun visor.

Boat ramps? I can't say that I've ever needed a locker on a boat ramp.

i know the op didnt even bring up boat ramps, and i dont know how sc is, but ive watched a 2wd f150 get drug into the water by the pontoon boat it was towing. i always got by with my ranger and 16' cc but i always went in 4lo to go up the ramp. a locker woulda been nice for busy days when the ramp are slick the whole way up

I've never used 4wd or a locker on boat ramps. Wether towing small or big loads.

get you a spartan locker or aussie for the front.there around 250 to 300 bucks and you wont even know its in there in 2wd and will notice a big difference off road you will love it. dont get a lock right for the front you wont like it better off getting the lock right for the rear

I had a lockrite in the front with no problems. Why do you say he wouldn't like a lockrite?

Idk about you but the boat ramps around here are corrogated... It'd be awefully hard to slide into the water. It's hard to even spin a tire on a boat ramp here.

Depending on what your axles are and tire size. If lock the front have spare axle shafts with you on the trail.

Engine: 4.0
Transmission: AX15
Transfer Case: Np231
Front Axle: D30
Rear Axle: C8.25
Tires: 30x9.50 a/t
Lift Specifications: 2in

Totally missed his specs ha ha. Yeah do the front then. It's better for your jeep to be pulling instead of pushing

Lock the Rear first, You'll be able to go further in 2wd before even needing to go into 4wd.

Unless you have manual hubs or go for a selectable locker leave the front open !

I've ran a lockright in the front and a arb in the front I wont lock the front unless I go selectable from now on !

Have you ever wheeled with the 3.07 gears. With 30" tires you still need to use 4L a lot 2wd is only good for dd
