Hey guys. I'm looking in getting a locker like a lockright or a spartan or something like that for my jeep. I dont wheel it a whole lot so I really only want 1 locker. Which would be a better place to put it, front or rear?
What size tires do you have? What rear axle is in the Jeep? What kind of wheeling do you do? Mud? Rocks?
What part of the US do you live in? Get lots of snow? Is this a daily driver? Do you drive it in snow?

I live in upstate SC. I go to gulches orv in Laurens, SC and do the first 3 classes of trails. I'm not real big into mud but i will get in it sometimes. My cherokee has a 2in lift and its on 30x9.50 a/t. and i have a c8.25 in the rear. It is also my daily driver.

i say rear.
when climbing an obstacle, the front end is light, all the weight is on the rear wheels.
plus it's a lot easier to turn on tight trails. no 12 point turns just to get around a tree.
i had both front and rear locked, removed the front just cause it's a pain on really tight trails which is basically all we have here in the north.
however, i'm contemplating putting it back in again...
but i would never remove the rear locker.

I'd say rear would be cheaper of the two. If your doing the front, you would want locking hubs or a air/e locker. It's hard to turn a locked front end, especially on the street.
If you were launching a boat, you would want fronts. Those wet boat ramps can get slippery.

Ok so if i go with the rear what selectable locker would be good or what non selectable locker would be a good choice? I don't really want to spend too much money so i may not get a selectable locker.
I have an ARB in my rear and one waitin to go in my front. I absolutely LOVE them.
Some will say e-lockers are good because you don't have to worry about a compressor.
I like having air with me, so that doeant bother me one bit.
But the price of a set up new is kinda high. But I got my front assembly, with a compressor, switches, and wiring for $350 used.
