In the process of installing a Spartan in my D30 with the CAD axles. My question is which half of the axle usually breaks when you bust an axle. The half closest to the diff or the half closest to the hub. I'm running 34" tires and I'm not that hard on my rig.
Just wondering if I need to go ahead and replace with a newer one-piece passenger side or just grab a couple spare outer halves from JY.
Whatcha' think?

rip your CAD **** out, throw in a pair of non-cad d30 axles with the bigger u-joints, and cover up the cad box. You will need to swap the seals at the disconnect box with ones for a non disconnect d30.

if you spent the money to lock your D30 and have the CAD unit then call yukon and get the CAD block off kit , comes with the seals and block off plate , when i called them the kit was around 50 bucks... then just hit up your local jy and grab some one peice axles ... youll think yourself later on!!

The thing that almost always fails is the u joints or the yoke on the axles that hold them. The CAD is considered very strong.
