If you consider $60 ( I think that's how much they cost now) as being in your budget, hella 500's are hard to beat. They come with covers, high quality wiring kit with relay and switch.

You will surely be happier with that than anything you can get off the shelf from Wal-Mart, an auto parts store accessory aisle or a hardware store.

Harbor freight has driving lights, 55w, I have them on my roof. $10.99 a pair, comes with a switch and some wire, but you will probably need more wire. They also have 100w lights, $25 a pair, they're pretty bright too

I've run Hella FF500s, Black Magics, and the small FF50s. I've also used Walmart pilot specials, Harbor Freight lights (the utility and driving) and just got into the LED realm with some 27w ones I'm putting on the A-pillars.

Overall, I'm happiest with the FF500s. Like stated before, you get a stone guard, wiring, switch, and they are easy to maintain. I got mine for $65 a pair, both in pencil and flood patterns.

The next set of lights I'm going for are some 55w hid lights off ebay. You can find the rugged ridge lights on there for pretty cheap.

howd you like them pilot lights? a real good friend of mine told me that autozone has Pilot brand lights that are same wattage and same material as the KC lights but for half the price. anyone try these?

I had a couple of sets of the Pilot lights from AZ, everyone thought they were KC's. Without the light cover, you can hardly tell the difference.

They really were not all that bad. Put out good light, and only got condensation on really humid days (Hellas have NEVER gotten condensation). Had a decent amount of light scatter though. Would blind people if i used them on the road, where the Hellas had a very tight beam, and didn't blind oncoming traffic.

I love how no one even batted an eye at this guys comment. These lights are expensive as *****! Why you would even post this in a budget thread is beyond me.
