I'm thinking about installing a 50 inch lightbar on my XJ. Does curved or straight matter? How bad is the shadow? Would painting the hood a flat black help eliminate some of the shadow?

I have a curved 50" with the brackets I have a straight one will not fit . my xj is black so the light that hits the hood doesn't bother me .
