About to purchase an OME lift kit. Should I go with the light duty or the medium duty? The medium duty is actually about 60 bucks cheaper. I dont haul anything just use it for my DD, hunting, surfing, shooting. Do you think the ride would be to stiff?

Oh ok. I was thinking Dirk from DPG had that kit the cheapest but his is a little more because it comes with some extra stuff. Never mind.
I'd suggest the medium or heavy duty if you ever plan on bumpers or carrying a lot of stuff in the back.

X2 on this. The ride with medium duty (CS033RA) leafs with the OME Nitrocharger Sport (60053L) shocks is considerably stiff for an empty load; however, with a trailer and a full load of people + gear, the ride could best be described as lexus-y. I'm sure the same effect could be achieved with a rear tire carrier and gas tank skid or something of the like.
Overall though, I am very pleased with the product and I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose from OME. Make sure you ask the quadratec guys if the product is still in stock, ARB recently discontinued some of the OME products for the XJ line, and some of these are still listed on the website.
As long as you only use your XJ for "light duty", there should be no reason the suspension will sag in an unreasonable amount of time with the light duty springs. Always best to buy according to your needs, and try to balance that with your plans for the future.

I cannot remember how much lift both provide (there are threads out there), but I am pretty sure the medium will sit higher/stiffer. If you dont plan on hauling anything, or putting a heavy duty rear bumper on light duty would be fine. When in doubt, call Dirk at DPG he knows his stuff! Are you stock?

I ordered the OME medium last night along with a set of side tubes. I asked Quadratec last night and they said ARB has discontinued alot of the lifts for the Cherokee. They do have a few left in stock though.

Most of the things being discontinued are simply being replaced with more expensive options. Lol. Do you have the part number for your springs?

I only have a Quadratec part number #76090.80X. If you go to ARB website and look at theier springs they dont have an1.5'' lift option anymore and the OME website doesnt have any options for the regular cherokee only the grand cherokee.

Didn't realize you'd bought the whole kit. It should treat you well, let us know how it works out. And if you can, buy your u-bolts from a local spring shop rather than online. Mine were less than half the price of anything I could find online.

So quick question. The kit just got delivered and it came with a Tcase drop kit. I thought you were ok without one till you hit the 3''+ range. Am I wrong? Im going to put it in but just seemed odd to me.

To answer the question, some Jeeps are more susceptible to vibrations at mild lift heights, so the drop may be needed. (I believe AW4, NP242, Chrysler 8.25 is the combination which results in the shortest driveshaft, which usually results in the most, or soonest vibes)
