Lifting My Jeep
So I'm at 5.5", but I want more lift. I'm thinking 12" because there's a lot of corn and mud in Illinois. I don't have a lot of money, so I want to do this cheap.
I was thinking about taking some pvc pipe and making some drop down coil extension things. I think if I use some flat stock I can bend it and screw them into the body of my Jeep and the pipe. Then for the rear I think I'm going to screw in some box tubing to lower my leafs and use blocks to level it out if needed.
Do you think my stock steering will be ok and will I need to extend my brake lines? Is it ok to drop my crossmember down with a larger spacer so I don't get vibes? I was also wondering if I should do 37's or go 39's? My friend has some Ground Hawgs with a little bit of tread or my other friend is selling his Thornbirds. Both look like mud throwing monsters! What should I do??

Why not go bigger?
I'd get three sets of 3 in. coil spacer, stack 'em in the front. Done. Steering will be fine. Might need a new dampener if yours is older.
For the rear, I'd get three sets of 2 in. lift blocks. You'll probably need to make some new u bolts from threaded rod or you could just cut & weld a few sets of the u bolt that come with the blocks.
With this set up, you will be nose high (as the front will be at 14.5 inches & the rear at 11.5) BUT you will have that classic "gangsta lean".
You could just dump the sway bar & shocks, don't need that crap. If you have stock gears, go 40's, it will get ALOT better gas mileage.

To start with your going to need to find a frame to mount under your jeep.. The frome will give you something tomount the 12" suspension too.. Next you are going to need some major big axles and probably a V8 to turn the tires. Beyond that its just a matter of finding some springs and a longarm setup.

Is it April 1st?
No, I'm serious. I've read a bunch and think I got this figured out.
Does anyone know if a Yugo engine will fit in my Jeep? I was thinking tri-turbos with a blower and dual force clutch with a 2k stall convertor. I think that would be an awesome powertrain setup.

You live in row crop country just find a set of tires and wheels off of a high wheel truck sprayer. You know the kind the ones that go gown the rows of the high growing crops and spray.
Hell those must be 6-8' tall and skinny but they don't get stuck as they use them in the rice fields also. If those don't give enough lift I don't what will

I stacked some junk coil springs together and got 18 inches of lift in the front and stacked up all of my old flip flops and made lift blocks out of them for the rear. Rides great since the flip flops have some give to them.
