Default Lift and tire?

I'm new to this 4x4 stuff. I have a 99 Cherokee limited and have decided to drop some money into it. I'm thinking about a RC 4.5" lift what do you pros think. I don't do much muding or rock crawling mostly just use this for hunting. Also with that lift what size tires would I be good with and would they fit the stock rims? Thanks.

Nothing wrong with the RC lift. For the stock wheels find a set of narrow 33" tires.

I would say no on rough country for your app.

I love RC for the price but unless you get out and wheel it, it will feel like a brick on wheels. You have to break in a rough country suspension.

For dding you will want something softer.

Right on. How big a tire you gonna run? 33's are a good start. So there's like 800+ Have you considered whether or not your going with a long arm or short arm setup? At 4.5" a LA setup is preferable, but would eat up all of that money alone.. So 1500 minus lets say an even 1000 for the tires leaves you with a pretty minimal budget for a lift... This will come in right around the budget, but it still doesn't account for shipping and installation of the lift..http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_4.html

I wish it felt stiffer on my WJ, the xflex kit on my wj feels like jello. Their shock no matter the Mexico white shocks or the rc 2.2s, they just suck

Yeah I figured $600 for lift and $900 for tires or maybe tires and rims.

Below 3" yes.. Above, no. Steering and driveline issues need to be addressed. At 4.5" you'll need an adjustable track bar and some other components like a HD tie rod and steering braces wont hurt. Then the rear driveshaft will need (probably) a SYE, a cv shaft and maybe axle shims. You can do a TC drop instead, but it doesn't solve the vibration problem and you loose some clearance. Longer bump stops, fender trimming, some other stuff.. But that about covers it, I guess
