Personally I am not a fan of 3” and up kits. To stiff of a ride.

If I were to do it all over again I would go with new stock leafs, 1.5” angled blocks, and 1.5in shackles for the rear. 1-1.5” font coils and 2in coil spacers for the front.

I like the bilstein shocks I am currently running.

Adj track bar.

Aftermarket upper and lower control arms, adjustable.

Its tough to screw up a 3" lift. All you really need to replace is springs and shocks. Get it aligned, make sure your brake hoses are long enough and wheel. Most manufacturers are on the same level quality-wise at that height, just avoid shock spacers, coil spacers, lift blocks and if you can afford it, add-a-leafs.

That's a recipe for destroying leaf springs.

You can bumpstop, but the springs would have to be well inverted for the tires to stuff.

Jumping a xj several feet in the air is a recipe for disaster. LOL

After beating on my original xj leafs set up this way I am pretty freaking confident in the advice I gave. Especially since I off road 2 too 3 times a weak literally.

I have had my leafs inverted hundreds of times with 1.5” angled blocks. I have jumped it, dropped off creek banks, etc...

Your opinion is noted though. 8)

that 3" lift from zone seems like a really good deal, but i don't know how it's going to ride. I'd like to hear from someone who has it installed.
I've researched lifts quite a bit recently, and just like everything in life you get what you pay for. You also have to realize going to 3" you might need a SYE, or drop the transfer case. It just depends on the vehicle.
I'm going to go for 2" of lift, just because my wife is short, I'm not going to put in a step for her, it shouldn't require a SYE, and I'm not really going to do much offroad. My leaf springs are shot so I'm going for Old man EMU 2" leaf springs in the rear, either new 2" rustys coils in the front or I might just add spacers to save some money, and I already picked up some barely used JK sport shocks for $50. So in total I'll have about $450 invested when it's done.

you have to decide on quality, price, lift size--and what you expect out of it for money spent.

I don't know about aftermarket springs. I believe you. Stock ones though are supposed to invert. To a certain point. That is the reason for the factory bumps. Now if you have longer arch springs and are inverting them to factory bumps. Then yea that is bad news!
