ur best bet is coils up front with full leaf 3 1/2" lift in the back... or just http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3.html or http://ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2...egory_Code=PFX
but id stick around here for a bit and learn...

Just get a good 3" or 3.5" lift with the full leaf packs in the back, run it like that while you learn more about your jeep. What you need to do is read a ton of info on here, look at the builds section, look at their pics, and then go look at your jeep for reference.

its cool man, ive spent over two months reading and i still cant decide, at least my budget gets bigger every week.
i was dead set on a 3-3.5" but after spending way too much time on here still don't know.... btw search lift and sye, if you check this out... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/xj...up-thread-260/
might give you an idea of what you want...

Just my opinion i would go with a long arm kit.. I have a 4.5 Rubicon and have seen the flex of a long arm kit it is AWESOME! If you are not going to do any crawling then dont waste the money.. But i have a 4.5 with 32/11.50/16 on 16x9 and they rub on the bumper part that wraps around to the fender.. I didnt want to do any trimming so the 4.5 helped out with that..

To be honest JAYSSICKXJ im not going to be doing any extreme rock crawling but i will be doing some trail riding with moderate crawling involved every now and then so should i go for long arms or would i be good with like a 4.5 inch suspension lift i was wanting at least 4.5
