Default Lift Questions

I am soon looking to purchase a lift kit for my XJ, but I have a few questions that will determine exactly how high I want to go.

Question #1:
What is the maximum lift I can get before I have to start changing yokes, dropping transfercase, or changing driveshafts?

Question #2
Poly Bushings? I figured since I would be there, and had everything pretty much taken apart, should I go ahead and go with complete set of polyurethane bushings. I would think that the new components would come with some. Any advice on this?

I think its around 4 inches and the vibrations increase. How much lift are you going with?

From what I understand, it varies greatly from jeep to jeep. You'll find people who allegedly have 4.5" of lift without terrible vibes and others with only 3" of lift and its undriveable.

Just save the money and get an SYE/DS...that way you have essentially futureproofed your rear and if you want to go bigger at any point in time a new DS isn't horrendously expensive

Im around 4 and don't have any major vibrations. But it does just depend on your Jeep.

I had 4.5" lift for a while that just used a t-case drop kit and I had no vibes and it handled great with a dropped pitman arm. if you go 5" or more it gets a lot more complicated. The SYE isnt too bad but getting the jeep to handle well and still be street friendly can be tough/expensive.

mine's a 2000 and i got minor vibes above 65 and around 30. Mine has the AW4 and 8.25, so the tranny is longer and the pinion is longer, and the slip yoke is longer 97-01, so i have the shortest driveshaft put into an XJ. I only have a 3" lift.

Its going on a 95 XJ, currently every suspension component is stock, I am consdering the 4.5" lift, but if a 3.5" lift will work without other modifications I will go with that.
