Im not new to xjs I had an 87 with an abortion 4" lift on 31s. I loved but I had no use for it so I sold it. I picked up a 2000 from my friend for free. Its a solid straight body. The head is cracked so Im going to do a head swap and likely a motor overhaul. I want to put a real lift on it, I really like the 4.5" rustys lift. It seems like a good deal with complete springs and everything. People have been bashing them on different forums and what not so I was also leaning towards a rough country 4.5". I will be running either 33s or 31s. My other xj would flex the 31s all the way up inside the wheel wells with no trimming and stock flares I kinda liked that. I just do some mild wheeling, no rock crawling. Its basically a deer/coon hunting rig. I would just build one but I have alot of other projects on my plate right now so Im looking for a simple bolt in install. anyways thanks for the input guys

Yea I was wondering if rough country or rusty's was better. My old "abortion lift" as far as I could tell was a 1.5" spacer setup put on top of a 2.5" superlift setup. Thats just what we called it because I really wasn't imoressed with it. Sorry for the terminology.

4" on a budget. I've done it! Probably $500 for everything, including longer lca's and a an adjustable TB. Other pieces can be found in a boneyard or used from a dealership if you know the right people. Get new shocks, of course. I got 4" RC 9000 shocks for about $25/ea shipped.
