why 5.5"? why not 6.5? or 12.5? or 3.5? just trying to understand your plan...

what are you going to do about the other stuff that goes along with lifting to 5.5"? it ain't no walk in the park

I think we just want to make your you know what you are getting yourself into , the last thing you want to do is lift it big and lift it without the supporting mods to do it right... cause what will happen is you will make your Jeep a money pit... and make it less enjoyable

last thing you want is to be screaming and it's your daily driver...

so... what are your plans for this Jeep?

I agree that it'd be easier if we knew what you were planning. If you have a while, rubicon express should be back in august- they'd be my first choice. If you don't mind spending a good bit of money, Clayton makes great products. They'll last a long time, and flex well. Clayton, iron rock offroad, and rubicon express are all well worth the money. Rustys and rough country are a little bit cheaper options, but will still perform well.

Especially if you have other vehicles, I have always had great experiences with Top Gun Customz.

What transfer case do you have, Np242 or Np231. I had a 3.5" lift, NP242, and t-case drop with brutal vibes. I replaced it with a Np231 with a SYE (SYE is not offered for a 242 enless you do hack n' tap) and the vibes were gone. Some people run 6.5" with no sye and no vibes, and some people run 2" lift, t-case drop and have vibes. If u run 4.5" of lift with a tcase drop you should/could be okay, all jeeps are different with this case so it seems.

What axles do you have under the truck? The dana 30 should hold up depending on how you wheel but the dana 35 out back wont, an 87 is a possible candidtate for a dana 44 but you have to check

Gears a deffinete with 35s!

What about the steering componenets? I would atleast recommend the v8 ZJ tie rod or a 1 ton setup.

Now remember when you were younger, and life was simple? Thats how I felt with 3.5" and 33s. Now with 6.5" 35s, gears, steering, and so much more crap, Now its like im all grown up and have responsibilities lol. So just make a list and do some research before you dive in. Either way you go your still gonna have fun!
