Default Lift to Level

I know this is a frequent issue for lifted XJs, but my 97 has a 3'' RC lift with AAL in the rear. The distance from the top of the tires to the bottom of the fenders is the same front and rear, but I need 1.5" up front to make the body level with the ground. I may be able to get a hold of some 4.5 coils to (in theory) level it out. What are the pros/cons of having a 4.5" coil up front and 3" AAL on back? Should i get coil spacers instead? (Don't really want to) I really want the clearance up front for more tire travel, etc...Thoughts?

Need to measure it correctly to start. Best method I have found is from the axle tube to the frame rail. I don't remember the measurements right now, but it should be something like 6.5" front and 6" rear (or the other way around) at stock height.
Your AAL will sag with time and use, will probably level out on its own.

I used an electronic protractor on the roof as well as some other body lines. To get the roof to 0 deg. (parallel to the floor,) I needed 1.5 inches up front. I lifted it a year ago, and its had the same rake since.

Throw in a poly spacer up front. I had to add a 1" on my Rustys "2 inch" lift (more like 3.5 in the back and 1.5 front!)

Plan on a rear AAL settling about .5" if you dont haul any heavy loads.

If you can its always better to run full springs over spacers. I have the same kit and mine sits pretty level.
