Default Lift kit issues

Hello got an 01 xj and am installing a 4" lift on the front. I am having a few issues. First is I have the Bilstein 5100 lift shocks. It is impossible the get the top but even started because the rubber bushing is too thick. Also the boot is bunched up.

Second issue is I can't get the new spring isolators on. Seems way too small to fit.

Pictures are attached.

I would try the rubber off your stock shocks or whatever shocks were on it see if they fit better and on the spring isolator it looks like this has had a lift installed and somebody extended that too to make it longer Bump Stop and that would probably be why the spring isolator does not fit over that too

I couldn't find the old shock bushing so guess I'll have to buy some. No idea what to do with the spring isolator. It appears to be the same size as the ones I took off. Maybe I can use something to make the hole wider.

Take a razor blade and slice those shock bushings thinner like cutting a tomato for a sandwhich. It isn't going to hurt anything taking 1/8" out of either one which should give you some threads to start with

I had the same issue with my 5100s. I used the thicker bushing on the bottom and one of the old thinner ones up top. Never looked back and never had any issues. It if you can’t find the old ones, like @That Jeep Guy XJMJ said, cut the new ones.
