I want to get 30" wheels on my stock xj, do i need to lift it at all? and how much if i do?

i think it would be way too tight for stock but a 2" budget boost would fit 30s pretty well. I just put mine on today. Could fit 30s under there.

i bet you could fit 30s on stock, but there would be some rubbing. I have a 2", and i'm squeezing 31s under mine.

oh, you might need to get spacers or a bigger backspacing on the rims.

I ran 31's on my 2000 stock. have to trim a little plastic, but they fit fine.

if you plan to go off road with 30s you definitely need a 3 inch lift.

Spend like 350 and get an add a lead suspension if your rear isnt sagging..just don't use blocks

I would just do an inexpensive 3" kit get some new coils shocks etc. It'll be a good all around upgrade.

One of the cheaper kits would be good. I would do the RC kit with control arms.
