12-14 gauge wire should do it, it would be cool if you can wire them so they come on when you open the doors and also by switch

Depending on the actual draw of these LED's you can probably go with as low as 18-20 gauge wire (since these seem small). You can tie straight into the factory door switch (which is a ground by the way [-]) or install a switch to control them.

Like I said above, since they run on so little power, you don't need much of anything at all to push them (wiring/switch wise).

Some of the cheaper ebay lights you have to plug into a cigarrette lighter so you may have to hide the wires to the cigarette lighter...
When i ran LEDS in a S10 we built at my old job it had LED strips in the sub box Lighting up fiberglass door panels and under the dash for feet lights.....

They were hooked up by Running 1 12 gauge wire to battery power then the strips were tied into it(only because the wire for the strips was so small)

I have blue in my XJ just for kicks. I got them at autozone since they are a bit brighter. If you wire them with the cigarette lighter and then a switch, you can't leave them on and kill your battery! Then again, if these lights kill your battery, you need a new battery lol.
