Default LED Headlights and radio interference

Had my XJ for almost one year now and hardly ever use the headlights. I noticed that when the LED headlights (installed by last owner) are turned on I have radio interference. Didn't know this was a thing so Googgled it and see that it is. Not a big deal because I don't drive it much at night and I can always throw in a CD or put up with it. Not willing to spend time fixing it or might go back to a non LED headlight. Anyone else have this issue?

I resolved my radio interference with ferrite clamps. IIRC it took 4 in total. 1 on the headlight cable and 1 on the factory wire harness.

Thanks, maybe I'll try that and see if it works. Not a big deal but it would be nice to get it fixed at some point.

LEDs use a driver to regulate them. LEDs operate at certain frequencies. Issues like flickering or interference are usually issues found in cheaper LEDs.

If you've ever had a house with a garage, you might have dealt with this issue. Lots of LED bulbs can interfere with the opening and closing operations of the garage door motor. They make special LED bulbs to use on your garage door motor because of this. Something that complies with FCC requirements is a lot less likely to interfere with the operation of the garage door opener as well.

All of this is to say cheaper components can cause issues like this. I have no issues with my LED headlights and radio on at the same time.

I'm sure they are cheap and he probably bought them on eBay. I've looked on eBay to see if I can find them to see what he paid, but with no luck. Might try to fix the current issue, maybe replace them, or just put up with it. They do put out excellent light so it's not like I'm unhappy with them. FYI, I have my garage filled with LED's with zero issues.

I had radio interference on low beam with my cheap Amazon LED headlights. On high beam it went away.

That, plus the fact that they couldn't melt snow pushed me to go back to halogen lights.
