Cool LED bulbs for blinkers

Has anyone put these in their XJ yet? What kind of resistors did you use to prevent the fast flashing?

Thinking of doing the same thing here. I'd like to also hear what folks have to say. Curious about doing front and rear signals.

Same here, the bulbs aren't cheap either. But they will look cooler than the stock filament bulbs and be more functional.

There's a write up on here about them. You don't have to wire in resistors if you replace your flasher with an LED flasher. Tridon EP-27 or something close to that.

I've done this. I put in led bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com in the front blinkers amd the sides(I also put clear lenses in). I changed the relay. It's easier than messing with resistors amd will decrease your current draw. I used to have a "heavy duty" relay that I picked up at a local auto parts store that worked, but it died amd I couldn't find it again. I bought one from superbrightleds. It's a very quiet relay too.

Swap the OEM "thermal" flasher for a more modern "electronic" flasher - if you have a #552, then a unit like the Tridon EL12 will work neatly.

And, you can swap bulbs back and for freely, and hook up a trailer - the flash rate will not change.

The only drawback? The flash rate will not change. This means you won't get the "fast flash" clue that you would get with a burned-out bulb, but adding a trailer and lights won't give you a "slow flash," either. But, regular checking (quarterly or so) if the turn indicator bulbs will be necessary.
