Leaking fluid from steering box
I went wheeling earlier nothing to hard. I was going through a mud hole then it dropped off making my front end bottom out a little. It climbed on out ok but I noticed my steering wheel was not straight and when I got back home noticed I was leaking ps fluid from the gear the pitman arm hooks to. I think i prob spun the gears in the steering box but any suggestions upgrade to Durango sounds like what I need to do????

Same thing with mine.Check tie rod & drag link to be safe.Make sure link end did not slip in the sleeve.Mine was good. I'm still looking for info on durango upgrade.think we both need it.I'm on my second xj box already.

Most of what I've read, says to use 99 durango box. The input shaft has a different spline count. I've not heard of this being an issue. Since yours worked I'll check the 98 options. The more I read, the more contradictions I get. Just wanted to get it all figured out before spending the $$$. Thanks for your feedback. Was the box your only problem,no rod, link, end damage?
