Leaf spring center bolt problem

The threads on my leaf spring center bolts aren't long enough when i slide them into my 4 leaf bastard pack..., these are the only center bolts i could find in my town at any store.
How can i improvise? !

Just go to a hardware store and pick up some allen head bolts that are the lenght you need. Or you can buy some regular bolts and round off the corners with a grinder.

i just got some grade 8- 3/8 bolts from home depot and rounded the head until it fit inside the hole in the axle, i hope thse hold up!
Im so happy i get to finish my lift tomorrow! Well, that's if my bastard pack nets me the right amount of lift :X

They will hold up fine. The originals are not even grade 5. All they do is hold the pack together until the u-bolts are on. After that they help keep leaves from sliding out. Strength is not really a concern on those.

I have had centering pins snap on me....
I would just go a grade 8 or the metric "hardened" allen head bolts.
