So, OP, with all the above posts in mind, you should keep the cat. Could potentially be a headache later on if you dont. Just be happy you aren't in CA like me where I am struggling to find a new cat for under $200

not to mention, if you were ever to sell your jeep, you will be giving the new owner a friggin headache when he tries to register it.
leave the cat on there, you don't gain anything by removing it.
put your chitty glasspack on there if you really want to be noticed by everyone, including the popo.

This is an OFF ROAD vehicle only, go ahead and remove it, its not a needed part of the vehicle, it does not improve performance, it restricts the exhaust and is actually a hinderence to performance. IF
If your state smog checks you have to keep it, FEderal law says it has to be there, like here in Arkansas no one is going to stop you and give you a ticket if its not there.
I still have mine on, but its my muffler since its a straight pipe otherwise.

Oh for gods sake. There's no laws against killing a cat in Montana.
If you want it to sounds good go find yourself a welded Thrush muffler. They're the same thing as a Flow Master and sound just as good.
Make sure you keep the tail pipe all the way out the back or you'll want to shoot yourself while driving down a long stretch of road.

It is against the law to kill a cat unless you are going to eat it. I keep a fresh supply around to munch on.

How many of you folks have heard of trails getting closed everywhere across the country?
You really wanna give the damn tree huggers more fuel to keep us on pavement?
Its against Federal Law. Its against forum rules for a reason.
Stop being hard headed, don't ruin things for the rest of us.
