I've been searching for a replacement roof rack setup for a while and trying to keep it under budget. My original plans was to start with a base unit (Thule, Yakima, or JCR gutter mounts) and fab a rack based on whatever I chose. Found this gem on Craigslist in the next town over from me and jumped on it.
The cargo rack sits on Thule cross bars & feet which mount into the stock location. If I was to build it, I would have made it a bit lower (4" high, not 6") and might have used larger square tube, but it's already made and I'm happy with it. Mounts solid and surprisingly doesn't make more noise. Got it for $150 and didn't bother to haggle on the price as the fellow I bought it from helped me mount it up. I'm a happy camper....

Looks sick, good find! Gonna throw your spare in it or just for misc stuff?
The spare is going to stay inside. Just the misc. items will go topside. I'm looking into fabricating a faring if it will prove helpful in reducing wind drag....

Since I didn't want to use mine for a spare and it's a DD I went with the tiny little Yakima Basketcase for 90ish off Amazon. Mine doesn't make any noise or produce any noticeable drag but it is a good bit smaller.
