01 with a front aussie locker. I have noticed when i am in the snow and in 4hi the jeep want to pull to the right and the steering wheel is turned about 1/4 to 1/2 while going straight... What would cause this???? I am having some issue with it not going out of 4x4 but I will address those once there isn't 15" of snow on ground, for now i just back up when taking it ougt of 4x4.

 

Your locker is causing it. I have the same issue with my locker in snow

 

That is what i was thinking but i have never had a problem like with any other vehicle I have had with lockers.

 

Look at the tread design.....your lockers make all 4 tires turn,and if you have a non-directional tread pattern it will cause the jeep to move to one side or the other as the tires spin.

If you look at the top of the passengers side tire, and the tread blocks on it form a diagonal line that is forward on the outside of the tire, the jeep will slide right...if the line is forward on the inside, the jeep will slide left.

If all 4 tires are aligned the same way, like they are on mine, then the jeep will slide that way very easily with tire spin.

If you have white letter tires, and they are all in or all out, chances are you have opposing treads side to side, so you shouldn't have as much of an issue.


Moral to the story is, yes, lockers can cause this type of action, but the tire tread pattern will cause it more.

Just like tractor tires have a reverse V pattern to push mud out from under the tire with slippage.....if you put those same tires on backwards, the tread will pull mud in under the tire when they spin, and you will get stuck much easier.
