Default JCR over the knuckle steering

I have a JCR 1-ton over the knuckle steering upgrade laying in my garage right now but I do not have a welder to fit the sway bar relocation mounts. Debating if it's worth putting on or if I should buy something different that will bolt on much more smoothly that way I can do it myself.

Is it worth putting this system on? Anyone have this on their XJ? I am wondering if drilling the steering arm holes out wider will effect the strength too.

Most will tell you to just forget the sway bar, I dont use mine, but everyones driving skill is different. Just use caution.

I have the same JCR OTK kit waiting for install. Its one of the better kits out there, and is reasonably priced.

I thought you had to relocate the trac bar mount as well with the jcr upgrade?

Depends.

Gotta keep the trac bar and drag link paralell and equal length.

I run the JCR upgrade and am really impressed with the product and performance. I ditched the swaybars and trimmed the lower spring buckets to clear the tierod. I went back to using a stock pitman arm to get proper angles. No more bump steer. Pure beef and I gained several inches of drop in the front with no binding. I would do it again with out hesitation.

Tip- use a good quality reemer for this upgrade.

So did the track bar stay in the same spot or does it need to be relocated? Thanks
Could you still use a sway bar with this setup? I dont want to get rid of mine, I like it disconectable.

I would prefer to keep my sway bar - I am on the road a lot since it is my daily driver. I am just debating if it is worth the hassle for the upgrade.

How much of a difference does a sway bar vs. no sway bar make?

JCR makes a relocation setup for the track bar and swaybar mounts. I did not use it because I have not ran a swaybar for several years. The stock sway bar mounts have to be cut off or relocated.

Yes, that's what I have. I just can't weld them myself.

The previous owner of my Jeep already gave me a brand new OTK so it seems kind of wasteful to not use it.

You only need to change the pass side rod end. Then you have the OTK one when you are ready to weld. That's what I did.
