JCR DIY bumper any good?
Anyone have any experience with the JCR diy bumper?
for under 300 bucks I'm thinking about zapping one together....
any thoughts good/bad?
I got a good deal on a Warn XD9000i today...
need somewhere to mount it.

Although I haven't put it to any tests yet, it seems alright. I got the new spacer for the steering pump with the tie end brackets to the frame. Added a light bar hoop or stinger or whatever you want to call it. My first welding project so in no way is it perfect, but I think it'll do the job.

I just watched the video about the tie in brackets and pump spacer...
looks like a necessary item... especially with a winch...
thats another 150 ... unless I make em myself...
probably just buy them though...
good thing I got a deal on the winch... this bumper is adding up ...

after re-reading the description,
The kit COMES with reinforcement brackets..... just NO steering pump spacer...
3/4" thick D-ring tabs and Front Uniframe Reinforcement Plates; which easily makes it the most complete DIY Winch Bumper on the market.
I can live with that.

Well..
Finally got it all zapped together.... happy with the outcome..
quality parts everything fit together nice...
welded inside and out...
didn't bother grinding the welds.... fugg it... It is what it is.
need to get some security bolts for the winch... either that or tack weld them...
don't want anyone walking off with it...
.

Post pics and a review when you do cause I'm leaning that way too. I was thinking of getting just the bumper at first then the tire carrier to put on it later. And by the way...there was no way I could have not grinned my welds, talk bout ugly.

Looks good! I would have mounted the lights on top of the bumper so you dont rip them off by accident, but under would be better for fog lighting so a trade-off
