no we werent using it to lift the jeep i was a passenger in his xj it broke free from where he had it attatched when we were in a 30mph role over. a highlift jack takes up alot of space and isnt the lightest and most movable of jack. but i will say the get the job done when used right and if the rig has points to use it on.

I just looked up one bottle jack see specs:
Minimum Height 8.5 In.
Maximum Height 16-1/4 In.
Is 16-1/4 going to be helpful on a 3 in lift with 32s?
Other question I have is on jack point suggestions, those bottle jacks had such a small contact point.

You should be fine. If your that worried about, cut a piece of 2x4 and keep it in there with ya. A bottle jack will do ya good though.

The stock jack will work fine as long as you bring a 12 in. square piece of plywood with you & a block of wood that matches the amount of lift you have.

yeah a hi lift jack isnt the greatest to use when changing a spare. Once you get the jeep in the air the jack usually just tips over and drops the jeep. They do sell wide bases for the hi lift jack but im not sure how they hold.

I keep a 6 ton bottle jack under the back seat. I have never even taken my stock jack out from under the back seat. I do have a Hi-lift but not for home use. only the trail.

The best jack I've found for working on a jeep is a big floor jack. The little ones are alright but it's comforting having the larger jack that's overkill and has a much larger lifting plate, and it lifts higher. They're really heavy so you'll probably want to leave it at home and have a smaller jack you leave in the rig.
