I did a quick google but want some answers now. A friend of a friend is scraping an j series truck and asked if im interested in the axles. I believe it was a 3/4 ton. He said d44 front and maybe d60rear. If so are these any good to build for my xj? I can get them for next to nothing and can weld/ cut. So are they any good and what might I need to do to make them work? I have yet to see them so I dunno what is involved bedsides perches and coil buckets. Any help is much appreciated

They are no good.. unless you changed your t-case to a passenger drop...BUT they are good for parts. Lots of ppl want the spindles in the front so they can run 5x5.5 hubs and rotors on knuckles. Also grab the steering BOx.. it is an upgrade to the xj box
Also they make good trading stuff.. CJ/Toyota/Zuki guys love them axles

Ok.. after checking out the axles the rear is a d 60 and the front is a d 44 drivers side drop. These are out of an 82 j 10 which was drivers side drop. Are they worth building?

Not sure on the width... it would depend on what parts you need. For a truss TNT, for weld on brackets I use Barnes 4wd. For gears and lockers Wayne Hartwig on Pirate. For any misc alxe parts I like Rock auto... by far the cheapest place out there.
