Default Iron Rock or RC Long Arm?

I will be upgrading to long arms soon and I was thinking about the Rough Country kit http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_689U.html but then I came across this Iron Rock kit
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=PFX

The Iron Rock has the Y arm on the drivers side, what exactly is the benefit of this? And it doesn't come with upper arms, any reason why it doesn't?

I searched on here about the Iron Rock kit and some people love it and say it has plenty of flex, but then others say they hate it. I couldn't find any info on the Y arm. Suggestions on which kit I should get?

Based off those two, and being the two cheaper ones on the market, I vote RC. Not what I would run (I have Clayton) but RC will when me there. They don't look horrible, and I've seen them wheeled hard in person too

I'd like to have a Clayton kit but they're a little out of my price range. I liked the RC kit because they're adjustable.
I'll be ordering a OTK steering setup as well, pretty sure I'll go with Iron Rock's setup unless someone has a different idea

I just installed an RC long arm x-member (haven't gotten around to the rest, long story)

Drilling the holes for it was a PITA. I'd much rather get something that can be welded on should I do long arms again.

I can't weld and I don't know anyone close to me that can, I'm looking for something I can bolt on even though it seems like more work.

Understandable.

The IRO long arms are a bit of a debated topic. I think the problems that could be had from having that castor adjustor thing on the top link would be enough for me to avoid it.

So I'd say RC long arms.

Do you know why the IRO kit has that Y arm on the drivers side arm? And why that kit doesn't come with upper arms?

It's just their design.

I'm guessing they think it has more articulation than a radius arm, yet uses less metal than a 3 link so it's cheaper? I'm not sure how they came up with it. Lol

Serious Offroad imo.
I'm not buying anything else from RC for my Jeep. Already having problems with the bushings in my brand new LCAs, and one of my RC shackles bent. The only other RC part I have is shocks, and they are holding up so far.

Serious.

Similar pricing, beefier than RC, and doesn't have the flawed design of IRO. Not to say either of the two are "bad". I'm sure they both get the job done, but I'd trust Serious over either of them any day.

Drilling the holes was the easy part for me. It was cutting off the lower c-arms mounts off that sucked the worst.

I'v got over two years on my iron rock long arms with no issues. I have yet to talk to any one with RC long arms that can say that. That being said when I finally get around to swapping in my D60 I will be giving serious off road a call about his long arms.

So is the IRO long arms a direct bolt on? And what upper control arms did you use? I have adjustable ones on right now
