I decided to make a new account since I broke the old one. No super crazy updates since November, but I have learned a few things.
XJ Fun fact - some 1997 models XJ have the 84-96 style front and/or rear overhead lights!
XJ Export (non- North America) models sometimes have a three-lamp dome light assembly in the back.
WJ visors don't play well with LEDs.
WJ door panels sometimes require new sockets when installing LEDs.
TJ interiors are pretty simple.
TJ 97-98: Floors 2x 1156; Overhead 1x T10 (flat)
TJ 99-02: Floors 2x T10 (flashlight style); Overhead 1x T10 (flat)
TJ 03-06: Floors 2x T10 (flashlight style); Overhead 2x 42mm
TJ Change years sometimes have a mix of the older and newer style parts. Check your TJ's bulb types before buying parts.
JK - limited options for upgrades due to some lights being soldered in place.
JK Rear cargo requires a CANBUS style light.
JK Front dome/overhead lights can also be replaced.
JK Small lights in the overhead information module cannot be replaced without soldering. (These should be LED already).
JK Floor well lights are also soldered in place. It's possible to wire in new lights, but requires a bit of work.
JK Some models have LED interior from factory(?).

I'm patiently waiting for you to work everything out with the 97+ gauge and console bulbs. I think you just needed money to make the bulk order?

I ordered your xj 97 interior kit today, but I think I'm one of the people with the 96 style one light overhead light. What should I do?

Custom parts would be ideal, but I've had to concede that it's not in the cards. Someday maybe, but no time soon.
The compromise solution will be better than stock and better than the LEDs used in the past, but I expect it to still be dim compared to the rest of the instrument lights.
Estimated completion is the first week of March. I'll post in the accessories thread when I need someone to test them, but I'm not offering them for sale or providing any info of that sort.
Speaking of sales, if there is a reseller out there that has a hole in their product line where interior LEDs go, I have the thing to fill that void!

I put together a fairly detailed, illustrated guide on replacing my dash lights with LED's and wiring up new sockets. If you want more info about pre-97 dash lights, check it out:
