Default Intakes for 4.0l same or diff?

Hi was wondering if anyone knows wether or not intake will fit diff year 4.0 l. I have a 2000 xj I chipped a piece off the intake removing it ( STUPID TAX ) now I need to replace. 6 11596a is stamped next to TB mount. I have a donor 4.0 l out of a 94 grand Cherokee any thoughts?? Love any information or ideas for replacement.

Let's see. First off don't feel to stupid. There seems to be a design flaw with those things or maybe it's the material but 1 out of 3 I've gotten at junkyards have a piece cracked off the corner. It always seems to be in the same corner spot so now I check to see if there's a crack there before even starting to remove them.

Now there are ways to "weld" aluminum so you might want to check around for that first in your area. If not then YES all the intake manifolds are interchangeable. I'm not sure you'd want to go backwards from a 2000 to a 1994 though as usually people upgrade to the '99+ ones because of the superior air flow. Also when you go from a 94 to an 00 you need to change the PS pump bracket. Not sure if you'd have to go in reverse or not.

PS: I have 3 99+ XJ intakes if you need one. For a profit of course. PM me if you are interested.

Yep. That's the exact same spot all the ones I see are cracked at. As I said must be a design flaw since they all break in that same spot upon removal. And I've seen some cracked there which were still inplace from the factory
