Default Installing a new stereo?

Ok so I just bought a Alpine cd 121 stereo and I hooked up all the wires. But when I plug it into the harness and then into my jeep and then start it there is no power going into the stereo. Here are some pictures. PLEASE HELP.

Have you tried hooking up that black ground wire to ground? From the pic, it looks like that's your DC ground wire. Sometimes it's the simplest things we overlook!

I did hook it up but when I went to look at the whole wiring again I had to detach it because that was the only way of getting the harness and all out of the car. I will hook the blacks together and try again, I wasn't sure if they needed to be connected just if I was testing it...haha thanks!

The previous radio worked fine, so i'm not sure if any fuses are blown but how can I be 100% that I have power going into the harness?

If u have a test light find the wire coming from the jeep that has a constant 12v and there should also be one that suplies 12v only when the ignition is on. The constant goes to the one labeled battery on the stereo and and the one tgat comes on with the ignition goes to the one labled accesory on the radio. If that doesnt work check your fuses and if still no luck hook the one thats constant from, the jeep to both the batt and acc wires on the radio. It will always have power to it even when the jeep is turned off but you should be able to turn the radio off and on manually, thats how mine is hooked up by preferance. I have an optima so I dont mind running the stereo without the jeep on while im sitting around with some friends outside the jeep lol. Hope this helps u

If its an older model like mine (94) I had to hook my ground straight into the metal inside the dash, my ground on my harness would not work

Like Rjmils said, make sure you have the constant power attached to accessory (or remote wire as it is called on newer head units) I think the wire should be blue? Might be wrong.

Heres a fuse diagram

Passenger side kick panel fuse breakdown for a 1996 XJ
01 - 25A Rear Wiper/Washer
02 - 15A Radio, Cigar Lighter
03 - Empty
04 - 15A Passing Light
05 - 30A Blower Motor
06 - 30A (Circuit Breaker) Power Windows
07 - 02A ABS
08 - 20A Turn Signal Flasher
09 - 10A Radio/Clock Memory, Courtesy Lights, Glove Box, Cargo, Dome Lights, Telltales
10 - Empty
11 - 25A Headlamp Delay Module, Horn
12 - Empty
13 - 20A Power Door Locks
14 - Empty
15 - 15A Instrument Panel Lamps, Clock/Radio and Memory, Headlamp Switch, Parking Lamps
16 - 30A (Circuit Breaker) Power Seats, Trailer Tow
17 - 7.5A Instrument Cluster Gauges, Headlamp Delay Module, Chime Module, Overhead Console
18 - 25A Rear Defrost
19 - 05A Instrument Panel Lamps, Radio Illumination
20 - 5.5A (Circuit Breaker) Windshield Wipers and Washers

I would start by checking 02, thats the one that is most prone to go out. Should be on the left? side of the fuse box if that helps. And just to be clear this is the fuse box right beside the driver side kick panel, mounted on the firewall under the dash.

And x2 on re-running the ground. Mine did not work either, so i ran a new one by putting a self-taper through the firewall and connected both the old and new grounds. Also remember some headunits find ground through the metal casing of the head unit itself, I know on mine the ground connects on the right side (looking at the back) with a screw into the back of the radio. If you're not sure if yours grounds like that or not try touching a ground to the back of the radio and see if it turns on, if it does thats your problem.

The blue remote wire on the radio is to run to an amp so that it will turn on and off with the stereo, the two wires that are to bring power to the sterio are red and yellow
