The point is that the spring will not be under tension because there is no weight on it since the jeep will be jacked up.

all good advice. I like dropping the LCA's and disconnecting the sway bar and shocks. Worked for me. Oh and the brake line from the body

We just remove the shocks, lift up the front of the jeep, and take off the lower control arms. Take off the tires, and let the axle down to the floor. You will have plenty of room to get the springs on.
^ this , I had access to a lift this is what I did
