Been driving my 01 cherokee for about 2 months with the new injectors and a Rugged Ridge cold air intake and I have noticed better fuel economy and more power. This is on a 3 inch lift and 31 inch tires.
Depending on how I drive it, the mileage is a 3 to 5 MPG improvement.
In my opinion, worth the investment.
Where I can tell the biggest improvement is on the highway.
I got some 703's for my '98 straight from the junk yard & installed them as is. I noticed a big difference but I did install a '99 intake & EBay header all at the same time.
MPG increase very little if any but a lot of fun to play around with. The intake should be a real "Cold Air Intake" and used the cowl area for the filter area and intake under the windshield passenger side.
The proper injectors will really smooth out your idle for sure with better throttle response and starting.
It only improved throttle response a little. However, I already got 21mpg before I swapped injectors. I feel like that's about as good as it can get. I bet if someone who was getting 12mpg did the swap, they'd notice a difference.
I see around 14 MPG in my 99. It doesn't like turning those 10 plys at 75 MPH on the worn out 3.55s. Been thinking about maybe upgrading the injectors. Also got to thinking, I've had it for 6 years now and never replaced the cap and rotor. It may be time...
Earlier this summer I swapped in the Neon injectors into my 2000 XJ. Between doing that, changing my plugs (though they were only a year old), and home-porting my TB; I have gone from 12.9 mpg to 15.8 mpg over the last 4 months or so.
