Not that it matters.

I sold Roxxy, the red jeep that i built from scratch. within a few months i got the itch again.

I just paid $700 for this beater cherokee. its a 2001 with 120k on the 4.0l aw4 np231, the usual.

4.5 inch rough country lift with 33" pretty bald tires. its been painted for one reason or another who knows. I'll be the 6th owner at this point. once accident reported to carfax a few years back but clean title, not a loss. Its scratched and dented and its been clearly used/abused offroad but thats okay. The front passenger side control arm is broken off from the axle. The rear drivers side shock isnt mounted to the body for some reason. the brakes are SHOT. the diffs are leaking. The usual xj problems on top of that... BUT:

There is no rot on it at all. the entire body/floor pan is completely solid. oh and as a reminder, i only paid $700.

Welcome back. Solid investment for $700, IMO.

Thanks man. Good to be back lol. I plan on obviously fixing the control arm and suspension. Going to make sure the driveline is all good and with a bumper or 2, and a GOOD cleaning, i might just try to flip it to be honest. It runs and drives with the whole floor pan so it should be pretty simple, especially in nj, floorpans are rare.

Being a more dedicated off-roader probably saved it from the salty roads. Does it still have the original 0331 cylinder head?

I didn't bother to check but I'd have to assume so.

For whatever reason I've seen quite a few nice rust free XJs come out of the south Jersey shore. Missed two really nice ones myself because I just couldn't get there fast enough. I think the difference is they rarely need to use road salt during the winter. The salty ocean air isn't good but the damage pales in comparison to spreading road salt or that liquid brine.

So guys. I'm getting rid of it already. I found the woman that owned it 2 or 3 owners back. she built it and wheeled the **** out of it for 2 years. she desperately wants it back and super regrets selling it....

trading for a bone stock mint condition 00 that she just bought. it has 220k on it. she did coil pack, spark plugs, oil, coolant flush, and power steering flush. aside from a dent on the hood its in perfect shape and completely rust free... seems pretty good.

edit: i dont have a clue why the picture isnt found it shows just fine in my PB account.
